Swimming is the ideal therapy for cardiovascular and musculoskeletal problems, working more muscle groups, simultaneously, than almost any other form of exercise. Swimming also burns as many calories as other aerobic sports, but without the associated dangers to muscles, bones, ligaments and joints which can result from stress and constant pounding. Since the water supports an individual's weight, it is possible to strengthen and tone muscles without putting stress on joints during swimming. For those suffering from arthritis, MS, osteoporosis and orthopaedic injuries, water therapy has become an essential part of building strength and range of motion while minimising pain.
In order to maintain exclusivity, during peak periods members are encouraged to pre-book 15 minute and half hour sessions in the exercise pool.
