Thermal Auricular Therapy is the name given to the professional use of Hopi Ear Candles to draw impurities from the ear - an ancient therapy from the Hopi Indians of Northern Arizona. The primary function of ear candles is to stimulate a healthy energy flow in the head, neck and chest areas. When the candle is lit it warms the tissues of the ear, stimulating blood and lymph flow, and softening any ear wax which may be present. It also creates a vacuum action which draws excess wax and debris up into the candle for disposal (like a very gentle form of syringing).

As ear candles stimulate blood and lymph flow to the head and respiratory tract, this treatment can be used to help variety of ear conditions such as excessive or compacted wax in the ear, sinusitis, rhinitis, glue-ear, colds and flu, headaches, migraine, tinnitus, hayfever and travel sickness.
